| Secondary physics instruction in precision measurement often emphasizes procedural mastery of instruments such as vernier calipers while neglecting the underlying principle: spatial magnification. This omission leaves students unable to transfer knowledge, defaulting to algorithmic recall. This paper presents an ultra-low-cost instructional framework leveraging the moiré phenomenon to render spatial magnification visually accessible for Grade 10 students. The framework comprises four components: (i) theoretical foundations of parallel and rotational moiré configurations demonstrating geometric amplification (Λₘ = Λ₁Λ₂/|Λ₁ − Λ₂| and Λₘ ≈ Λ/θ); (ii) two laboratory activities using only printed transparencies and standard equipment; (iii) a 5E-based instructional sequence scaffolding understanding from observation to principled reasoning; and (iv) material specifications demonstrating feasibility at less than US$0.30 per student without lasers or specialized hardware. The design addresses three research gaps: absence of moiré-based conceptual scaffolding in introductory physics, lack of systematic instructional design, and the misconception that advanced equipment is necessary. The framework is immediately implementable in resource-limited settings and honors substantial national contributions to moiré science.
